I tend to agree with you that this is the "pub". So far there has been nothing discussed here that you would not hear in your local pub. In fact I would say that the discussion has been even more polite than that which you would find in the average pub so obviously we are in the lounge bar where polite society gathers.

The adage that politics, religion, and sex should not be discussed at the dinner table tends to make for fairly boring dinners. And, when all is said and done, this is the pub, not the dinner table.
