May be the task is that the article is directly a pdf format. Some computers may start it automatically while others may need a promt or they have to download it first.
Addendum, on my iPad it opens in Safari immediately. But Chrome wants to offer me an app to view the article and makes it a bit more complicated. But finally it works.
