Of interest may be a straightforward aluminium strut and locating peg I have fabricated to keep the Easy-Up hood in the up position while loading the parcel shelf or undertaking maintenance beneath. Utilises existing tapped holes for the hood frame. Strut rotates rearwards to permit the hood to close.

Materials: 6mm and 10mm thick aluminium sheet, stainless bolts from Screwfix, threadlock and washers.
Tools required: hacksaw, drills, abrasive paper and polish.
