No apparent vacuum on the crankcase but I haven't put any fancy pressure measuring toys on it. With the size of the pistons and the length of the stroke it could well be cycling from +ve to -ve.
I got about a litre of oil out of the tank after a couple of thousand miles running over a couple of weeks, I haven't attempted to keep any accurate log of it.
I have no idea which tank or tanks I would use! As you say there are lots out there with the usual suspicion that a great many are made in China and re-badged when they hit the west so many are distinctly similar, particularly at the relatively lower cost end of the market.
The crankcase hose barb is a little bit more than just a hose barb; it has to be fitted in a specific internal orientation according to S&S although when you take it out and look at it it's not terribly apparent why although it isn't just a plain open end inside the cases. That is also why I put a centre punch mark on the forward facing flat of the hex on the fitting.
