I don't think so. This is an 1800 cc air cooled twin. The heads get very hot even when the oil temp is not (I added an oil temp gauge). the position of the engine is great fro cooling the heads whilst traversing the road, however at very low speeds there is not significant air movement.

Just seems odd that the cars without the kit very rarely suffer any issues (i.e. the engine going into overheat mode) yet with the kit on the fan is going off constantly.. must be my cynicism!

Are you able to elaborate on this one please? Struggling to find out what it is. cheers

In early 2013, the rear hub was improved to allow around 5mm more clearance between the drive belt and the tyre. These later hubs are black anodized. However, 2012 & Some 2013 cars may still be fitted with a silver anodized hub that does not benefit from this clearance between the drive belt and tyre.
RedThree wrote up an excellent PROCEDURE for retrofitting the black hub. 12th Down the list. Here is one of his photos from the document that shows the difference between the hubs:

Thanks Andy - spotted your name this time!
I shall take a little look, is this quite a common mod or rather more of an owners improvement than a common factory grade?
