If there is only one food item it must be a cheese and onion cob made with too much strong cheddar and too much coarsly chopped onion.
A wonderful memory from the 1970’s for me when West Midlands pubs served crisps, scratchins, pork pies and two flavours of filled rolls.

I’ll leave others to debate the beers - I have favourites but one of them does not travel well (Marston’s Pedigree) and since Malvern is a bit of a haul from Burton on Trent it may not be a good choice.
