Just a reminder that Facebook is a prvately owned platform that we are permitted to use for no charge. As a result, they get to make the rules about what gets published and what doesn't. We get to make the choice to use it, or not.
Absolutely. However the vast majority of FB users ( and you tube , twitter , insta etc ) dont realise that these companies have the power to manipulate data and to target ads on their site biased to their own agenda. Remember these platforms have absolutely huge young users which are perhaps more easily manipulated. They silence people that that dont conform. So what happens is, the users are fed info biased to the owners agenda and it become 'the norm' Its very Orwellian, you MUST conform.
People are silenced all the time on FB and twitter etc for holding a different view. Then what happens we have an echo chamber were nothing gets discussed or argued out or reasoned. I dont follow Icke and I haven't seen his posts but I bet there were as many replies to his posts making significant counter arguments to his claims?
So yes, it is a private company but people should be more well informed how these companies run their business before deciding to use it or not.
I stopped using FB for personal use years ago as I was getting fed up of stupid pictures of puppies, stupid memes, pictures of peoples tea and kids and families I didnt give a poop about. Once FB is ditched its like a visit to the loo after a curry, just an overwhelming feeling of relief
