I feel very sad for the aging veterans. We in the UK don't give them anywhere near the respect you se in the USA.
I took my kids probably 10-15 years ago to the D day beaches. At the museum wee a bunch of US vets. I can't imagine the fear & the courage to land on those beaches.
We owe them a lot for the peace and stability we have all enjoyed.
