Phil,
If the cars running okay and you can't see any immediate issues it maybe worth considering a reset (not sure how its done on an S1) but if its the same as the S2 onwards its straight forward. This will clear the error codes and should switch off the light.
This will tell you if you have a ongoing issue or was a fault that was logged but not cleared.
