Correct me if I'm wrong, but the spacers do the opposite: they move the steering wheel away from the dashboard.

There are two reasons to do so:

A) you have short arms, and as the seats can't move forward, you need the steering wheel to get closer to you.


B) you are tall so have long legs, and want to rest the left leg while driving bending the knee high so you can "flat your foot". And you can't because the steering wheel is too close to the dashboard so you don't have room for the knee to come up.




.... just that. This allows you the extra space necessary to bend your clutch leg on long journeys caused by the inevitable, annoying and well known Leg Nadge that builds over time. All round a worthwhile modifiction in my view.
