One thing for sure when you buy an English vehicle you have to accept some quirkiness.
Quirkiness is fine, but poor reliability/quality is another matter. Lotus and McLaren get it broadly right, as do Ariel and Caterham. I think it's far to say that the M3W was just woefully under-developed when rolled out, but has largely got away with it under the banner of 'englishness'. Whilst it was a useful term to mask the issues, I don't think it does the brand any favours.
Fortunately I think the main issues are now resonably resolved, so buyers should have a degree of confidence in a new (or suitably mod'd/updated) purchase.
