The problem is not the level of risk folks are prepared to take. The problem is that those that are asymptomatic carriers and are prepared to take the risk are passing the virus on to others, some of whom may be prepared to take the risk but all will undoubtedly be spreading the virus to people who are not taking risks.

"Don't outsource your life choices to the government" smacks a bit of alt-right thinking. Are we saying that we should choose not to obey the law? Just this law, or any laws we dislike being constrained by?
And if so, does that mean that we should not expect recourse to the law if we find others are doing the same? So what happens if I decide to set my own level of risk by taking active steps to reduce your ability to infect me?
