I recall reading that someone had a short on an indicator light fitting which took the dash control panel out, not wanting to concern you just to make you aware.
After supper I will look at exposed wires as they enter the light fittings etc in case there is a short. The dash control panel sounds like an expensive bit of kit and that's before trying to fit it. This gets scarier by the minute.
