well... my check engine light has been on for 6,000 mile (except idle) I just call it an idiot light and ignore it
I guess my idiot light is in fact a true idiot light. As explained before, when I went to the garage a week ago to check this idiot light, the historic and live alarms boxes were empty…. but the engine-check light was still ON in the dashboard. The ones who looked like dumb and dumber were myself and the Morgan technician. How is it posible to have the alarm light ON but nothing happening according to the diagnosis software?
And here comes my fear: if at any time there is a REAL problem, but I ignore it thinking it's just this idiot light ON again, and the engine is damaged…. who's fault is that? My bet: the garage and Morgan will say I was driving despite the idiot light was ON, so it's my fault and they won't cover the repair.
This is why I'm so much interested is getting into the ECU on my own! So I can re-assure myself that the idiot light has no real warning behind, instead of coming back and forth to the garage everytime is gets ON to be told it's a fake alarm.
