I used to think I resisted being told what to do because I didn't have a father, but I slowly realised that's how I am.
Had my father hung around, it would have been all out war.
My late Father was a brilliant brave Spitfire pilot and much respected who taught hundreds of people the magic post war, after the war somehow he never coped or acclimatised and his life was too chaotic for me to follow. Not having a Mother either from 18 months I decided to do my own thing very early on in life, he could not reason or argue so no future there for me and I never looked back.
Many happy hours up in the air with him though - both ways
You never forget the first person to take you up in a Tiger Moth when it's your first flying experience at 3 years old pure magic.
