Hello Frank
I contacted Paul & MES Ltd & this is how he told me to do it.
Slide on the green seals first. Bare 5mm of the cable.
Crimp the end of the terminal to the end of the green seal.
Using just a dab of solder, solder the wire to the terminal & then crimp over it.
Feed the terminal legs into the connector from the rear. The crimped side should be opposite the clip. Live to live. You then have to push the green seals into place. Then loosely put the yellow cover on & pull the terminals from the front until they click home.
Lastly push the yellow cover backwards until it locks into place.
This is in a slightly different order to your method. Mainly because the terminal is crimped to the seal the green seal then has to be pushed into place first.
It all worked perfectly & I had a solid male terminal on the end of my new temporary high leval brake lightcable.
Now for the really bad news. Being the first dry day today for a long time I went to get my car to bring it home. I was already to fit the Y Splitter only to find that my 1998 car has different connectors. I am sick as the proverbial parrot!
