I could use bullet connectors and & a plug & socket did come with the kit from Simmonds. The problem was that the socket would have to be screwed to the wood & you could only make the connection by flipping the luggage rack out & then removing the spare wheel.
I really wanted to utilize the excellent Y splitter that MES supplied so that I would not have to remove the spare wheel everytime I wanted to remove the temporary brake light.
I think that the only way that I can progress is if I order a few more connectors & change them for the bullet connectors that are currently used in the wiring. I have ordered them from PoleVolt Ltd. I have listed the link below. The prices are very reasonable. I am however a little concerned about cutting into the existing high level brake light cable & also I will have to try to solder the connectors on inside the rear wheel space.
