Unless it was a very old Volvo it’s amazing he didn’t upset the multiplex system.

One those S40/V40 IIRC - the ones built in the old DAF car plant. 12V power taken directly from fuse box (possibly interior light circuit - but it was a few years ago. I mainly remember having a smirk at him removing the cigar lighter plug from the dashcam lead!).


Sorry buddy, popular misconception, S/V 40 series were built at the Gent plant in Belgium, the DAF cars were built at Born in the Netherlands. The DAF plant was part of the Nedcar set up with sub assemblies coming in from all over where the S/V40’s were in Belgium because of using the common platform with Renault (in fact using the Renault engine and box also).

Gent was antiquated until we put the 850RHD line in there but Nedcar was even worse.
