I would genuinely be surprised if not all Morgan leather selections were treated and colored with aniline dyes. I wouldn't want anything less. Aniline dyes are used to soak the leather and the dye permeates the full hyde. It imparts a rich, natural looking and long lasting finish. I can't imagine why an aniline-dyed hyde might be more susceptible to water spotting. I have an aniline leather sofa that is easy to scratch, but those scratches are only temporary and seem to be self-healing. It's a beautiful rustic piece, and probably aspires to be repurposed into a 3 Wheeler interior someday.
