Living next to Loch Lomond i have noticed this year more rented motorhomes, all the caravan parks and hotels are fully booked, we try not to go in to the village much as parking is a nightmare but good for local traders.
visited Whitby last weekend, although the Council allows 24hr parking, they have banned over night parking ONLY for MH's in the main Car-Parks, i found a spot in a side road next to the Railway line,
we were there 1x night a spent in excess of £100 in local shops and on food. The Council could easliy put a £10 overnight charge on and we would pay it.
Local Resident passing the next morning had a go at me, Wrong thing to do, i explained that a road that passes his house has nothing to do with his house and if he wants parking space buy a house
with a Driveway or Garage Port. MH's are not Travellers or Gypsy's they are people with a mobile unit who want to Travel and see different places instead of been stuck in a Hotel or B&B, if you want
your small community to thrive let us in for a night or two.
Visit France and see how they do it there, they welcome MH's with open arms into their community with dedicated service spot in many villages and Towns, get a grip Britain.
Giles (Pandy) or a French resident may be able to verify this, i visited Paris in 2014 and parked right underneath the Eiffel Tower in the car park FREE, apparently @ July August they allow free parking i believe it is their school
leave time, i await to be corrected.
