Having the 1.8 Duratec I became more and more curious after reading all of the above.
After about 45 minutes of fiddling under the bonnet and a 5 minute spell with the angle grinder in the garage, I am delighted to report a noticeable improvement to the throttle responce at the upper end.
More bang for zero bucks.
