Looking more closely at the wiring diagram it seems the optional front fog light wiring relies on a trigger from the headlight switch (before dipswitch) to the BCU (blue cable) to allow fog lights on if their switch is energised. I assume the spots would only need to be on with main beam, so if the blue command cable were transferred from headlight switch to main beam feed (splice into warning light feed) this would be achieved. A factory switch would need to be added of course to existing dash wiring but no extra relays, wiring or fuses would then be required as its all factory present and pre-wired, with a relay within the BCU to handle switching.
ETA: Having said this I expect your engineer will work with the PO's installation Chris and just add a relay and feed, but above may be of interest to others starting from scratch and offering a more elegant solution.
