Nothing like a good topic to get people thinking. I always find electrics a 'Dark Art'. It will be interesting to find the cause. I will update when i get to a solution.
In the mean time thank you for your suggestions. Just to let you all know I have put in LED for Side, Indicators and rear brake lights.
