I have a recently acquired 1981 4/4 (1600Crossflow). It's in great condition, having had a complete rebuild - pretty much as new, and we are trying to iron out a few little niggles. My question, and please be patient, as I am not proficient with spanners, is to do with the Camber angle.
My handbook states that the camber angle should be 2 degrees, but it does not say whether that is positive, ie top of the wheel leaning out, or negative, leaning in. My car is leaning out by precisely 2 degrees. Is that correct, or should it be leaning in?
2 degrees of positive camber is correct for your car.
Zero would be more preferable with modern radial tyres
It can be adjusted by heating the top frame lug where the kingpin is bolted in, and using offset “camber plates” at the bottom of the kingpin
It’s not a job for the amateur, and the track rod between the wheels may need remanufacturing to be longer, so as to allow the correct toe angle to reset
