Was out in the (very) heavy rain yesterday, so was looking out to see how 'reflective/obvious' the yellow plates were. Even at dusk, with rain and heavy road spray, it was really easy to spot rear lights well before any form of numberplate (or car shape) could be made out.
Agree, especially now I've got LED rear lights.
One advantage of reflective plates is if you are parked up in a street, car park etc without your vehicle lights on. Not that I do that.
