This is exactly my thought. But as you see, if the spot welds have failed, they failed at the factory while mounting it, and the clown who saw it thought it will be Ok to mount it this way. I'm in real anger right now mad2 This is not a design failure, but laziness and true irresponsibility from the guy who mounted that! swear


I don't think you can say for sure that it hadn't failed in service and was not OK when fitted. It looks like there would be room to drill a couple of holes and bolt the 2 parts together. I know you shouldn't have to but for me would be easier and quicker than getting involved with the dealer.
