Agreed. Mine is a damper blade car so wouldn't use it.
With the old fitting, you are correct. With the new swivel fitting it works. My car has damper blades, and yes - the original kit could not be fitted. So I found these swivel fittings, and there is just enough space. I passed this info on to Cain, who integrated it in his kit. There is a picture of it installed on my car on his website.
