I Do like the retro look of your Beemer, and would definitely align my thinking to that of others and STRONGLY suggesting that leathers are a MUST.
I cut my mechanical teeth on old bikes as a kid, before sports cars eventually took over, then returned to m/cycling in my 50`s for a few enjoyable years. Seemed most of the other "mature" bikers liked to look cool dressed in black leather...
Having memories of way too many myopic drivers, I bought a bright set of leathers with armoured patches on knees, elbows, shoulders etc... We sure don`t bounce on Tarmac as well as we once used to... So do take care and enjoy your m/cycling.
I was very fond of my BMW R850R, and thought it the best bike I ever owned. I still have my leathers in the garage attic, thinking I may make use of them again....someday...Hmm..??
