For a long time, America did not seem so cheerfully exuberant. On the streets and in the hearts. I have just heard both speeches, from Kamela Harris and Joe Biden. A piece of decency and respect, a piece of fairness and lived democracy, of the responsibility to work together on the challenges has returned. Only now, with the contrast, where it is the first day when Trump will gradually disappear from the media, I feel that Trump has been influencing and poisoning this life, the political life, and also moral life for far too long.
These two speeches of the new leading team are a hope for a new beginning. I am aware that Harris and Biden are human beings too and not any messengers of salvation which fall from heaven. It is up to the citizens to create a new spirit. It is a task and an opportunity for every American to be a part of it. And the hand is reached out to the opponent. I am full of hope, even if the discussions continue, of course. Controversy will always be good. Especially if the framework that is set is as acceptable as I see it coming back after the Trump era. My favorite sentence in Biden's speech: It is not the blue states, not the red states, it is the united states.
I am not a sympathizer of any particular party. I know too little of the internals of American politics. But I think that some representatives of the Republicans also think and hope similarly. Such as the wing of the Grand Old Party, Mitt Romney for example and others too.
