I am relatively new tot he forum in terms of posting threads, but I thought it would be a good moment to reflect on 18 months of living with my Plus 4 (2010 vintage). Very much a boyhood ambition to own a Morgan, and it makes me smile every time I drive it.
Living with it one understands the "Heath Robinson" nature of some of the design aspects but the nice thing is there are plenty of people here on the forum with useful advice.
Over the last year I have been working on some improvements, (when I say I, I really mean Cain at Wolf Performance).
Started with a panhard rod, which really made a difference, then a front suspension rework and adjustable dampers all round. A cumulative effect but has really made the car so much better on the road, planted rather than skipping around.
Today had the ECU remap , smoother power delivery and a little more torque which extends the gearing, plus a new set of nice aluminium pedals.
One of my very first posts was in relation to the fitted organ pedal which jammed wide open on two occasions (the roller was trapped in the rough casting when the pedal was floored), very scary at the time. Organ pedal removed the next day.
The new pedal plates work really well, adjustable left to right and up down. Much more comfortable and natural for my size 11's. There is also space to extend the left foot between the clutch and brake for longer spells.
I tried to attach a photo but the attachment manger was having none of it.
An interesting journey of improvements, trying to keep the old world charm and characteristics but making the car so much better at the same time.
just looking forward to a post covid situation when there are long journeys to be had.
