Good idea to use central fusebox(s) rather than individual Tim. Surprised those spade connectors shown on fusebox pic and presumably part of Autosparks loom don't have insulated covers, my LR ones certainly did. I would be tempted to snip them off leaving as much cable as possible and fit insulated ones.
You could slip some heatshrink tube over the existing, it's worked for me before
