By the mid 1970’s i had been from Panama to Alaska, the Adriatic to Vietnam and when my dad and i walked into a pub on the waterfront in Bay St. Louis we and one other patron were the only people in the place except the bartender. The patron and bartender were talking up a storm for the hour were were there eating lunch and having a beer. Not one single word was understood by either myself or my dad, who graduated from college in that area. I suspect it was a mix of Cajun and Creole that made french unrecognizable. They would have been great Code Talkers.
