When I used my +8 as a commuter and then occasional shopping trolley, it was scraped on the offside rear wing, as it also had a few chips from careless door opening I decided to ask the, best by reputation, body shop on the Island to spray both the front and rear wing at cost of £650. (The colour match to the nearside was poor. After a fair bit of discussion the owner offered either to redo it, but also suggested that also doing the nearside may be be the best solution which he offered to do for the cost of the materials I agreed to that at a cost of another £200)
So 6 years ago a non wings-off re-spray on one side cost £650, this was far from a blow-over, the only difference in quality that I could discern was a slight paint thickening at the beading where it had been masked off. I am pretty anal about the car and not hugely price sensitive in order to keep it top notch, but, even so, I could not have justified the additional couple of thousand which seems to be the norm for a wings-off job.
