There are some default options built into the S&S ECU to get a reasonable baseline map. Yes/No options include higher lift cams and if selected will bring the mapping close enough for the adaptive to cope.

A rolling road (or road tune) will allow fine tuning the settings and allow the fuel adaptive to be switched off.

The stock ECU is locked to preserve the homologation emissions settings and as far as I know the only people with the unlock codes are S&S and MMC so unfortunately buying a new, unlocked ECU is the only option.

Whether the new (Thailand?) owners of the X-Wedge rights will have the codes and be willing to release them - only time will tell.
