I have seen a few 4/4 Sports advertised. I was unsure about the hood but I do like the Traditional look and from the comments it doesn't seem to be too much of a compromise.
I would really like a galvanised chassis. Didn't realise the MX5 box came in later. would an earlier car, say 2009 with a MT-75 box be okay? I am already experienced with the MX5 box and the Ford Type 9 but not the MT-75.
I had my Sport from new in 2009 which was the launch year for the Centenary and the Ford gearbox was a bit notchy for the first 3,000mls but gradually freed up to be a nice smooth action. Fifth is a virtual overdrive tbh. I have no MX5 experience so don't have a comparison.
The traditional hood is easy to live with, I've never considered changing to an easy option in my seventeen years of driving once again it's a personal thing.
