Seems that there's quite a clamp-down on LED conversions now. Whilst I agree that LED bulbs in halogen units can be very bad with cheap LED bulbs (less so with properly designed and suitable expensive Phillips type replacements) and produce nasty glare, full replacement LED 7" units as many have on M3W's have been accepted before. In fact Wipac make a fully compliant, glare-free version for retrofit, as seen on many Land Rover 90's etc. However, even these are now outlawed on post '86 vehicles, which is a shame, as they are correctly patterned and improve safety at night hugely. Will be interesting to see how those with the replacement units get on at next MoT time.
