On a different note but a similar vein, I wanted to play with my Zetec and I felt I was going to be restricted by the ability to tune the ECU mapping so I stripped all the Morgan / Ford wiring out and put in an OMEX stand alone ECU.

Not completely straightforward but it does allow you to adjust the mapping very easily as you modify the engine or in my car swap the engine altogether.

Another benefit is that you can get rid of the immobiliser completely which is not required by UK insurers on a Morgan provided it's garaged overnight when at home.

Not suggesting it would be your first choice but it is very satisfying when you do get it right.
