Does anyone have a part # please?
I believe these switches aren’t very reliable, as an alternative has anyone tried mounting a micro switch off the brake pedal?

Here is the part you requested Dave.
Slaving a relay will remove the current factor from the hydraulic switch as John suggests, this makes them far less prone to failure.

I have never had a failure on either of my Plus 8's in about 50,000mls and 11 years to put things in perspective for you.

I would recommend avoiding adding the complexity of a relay to this safety critical circuit which will increase potential for unreliability. As John V6 suggests his failed even with low current LED brake lights so better to source a quality replacement switch.

You pay your money and take your choices is how I view it with my experience with them and slaving relays is a very common practise.

I had http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthread...nk-rear-suspension-re-visited#Post594455 pedal mounted micro switch fail on my 2009 4/4 Sport at 10,000mls so neither system is failsafe without getting carried away.

With headlamp controls I would agree to save dipswitch contacts although less relevant to LED ones with their much reduced current draw. I can't recall any manufacturer that uses a relay in the brake switch circuit though and again LED conversions reduce contact burning issues to near zero.

With electrics and maybe plumbing the KISS principle when possible seems to offer best reliability.
