Hi Nick, I 100% agree with your assessment on the best overall solution of a chassis located plate and the potential risk to the block itself. Certainly the view by Brands Hatch Morgan is that these prevent far more damage / issues than they have seen caused by them (as yet zero block damage from having them fitted) and they strongly advised I fitted one even though I purchased direct from Wolf and BHM did not fit it so they were not trying to generate any work for themselves.
