Looking forward to that moment - my new cable arrived today so I'm going to try and tackle it tomorrow.

As I 'think' I understand it from the Morgan Rebuild Project i need to cut off the end of the ferrule in order to feed it through the support bracket and solder it back on once that's completed.

Then 'just' unscrew the current yoke and replace it with the new one which came with the new cable. From pictures (or wishful thinking) it seems that it's just a simple screw holding on the yoke - mine is too covered in rat fur and other debris for me to be certain - haven't quite managed to life the cover off entirely yet.

I purchased the cable with a cable clamp from Morgan Spares of New England and, if I'm correct, I screw this cable clamp on in place of the ferrule to avoid the need for soldering . Does that sound as if I have a good grasp of the process - I'm entirely new to car maintenance/repairs so I'm always assuming I'm way off the mark crazy2

Edit

I think I found confirmation on the Morgan Spare of New England site
