The only time I didn't put the storm cover on was when at the hotel with Vinmog for the Montlhey event. Very heavy rain overnight not only flooded the road to the circuit but managed to enter the engine bay of my Morgan via the bonnet louvres. It took quite a while to dry everything out before the car would start.
Leave everything off - secure against the unpredictable climate with a storm cover, securely fastened - eg
