I remember bringing my son home 24.9 years ago. A nurse came out with you and if she didn't like the quality or fitting of the baby seat you were not allowed to take the baby home, I heard a local garage with a woman who fitted baby seats made a fortune. I had a Mazda MX5 and Ford Falcon at the time and didn't even consider trying the MX5, I am sure the nurse would not have allowed it.
I remember walking out and she asked about the seat while walking, I told her it should be fine, we borrowed it off my brother in law, only 5 years old and I fitted it with no issues this morning, her gruff reply was "I doubt you will be taking the baby, I have never seen a man fit a seat properly yet", she changed her mind when she saw it and said, "hmm you did a good job".
