Au contraire. Motorways are the safest roads on which to travel. Rural roads carry 40% of the traffic but are the locus of 62% of deaths. Motorways carry 20% of traffic but are the locus of only 6% of fatalities.

Statistics can be made to prove anything, Now check how many miles of rural roads there are compared to miles of motorways. Don't forget that I patrol motorways on a daily basis and I know where I feel safer.
