Yep, the Beeb have certainly fallen a long way from the Reithian ideal of 'Educate, Inform, Entertain'. But what are the alternatives? Apart from C4, every other documentary produced seems to be about either Sharks or Hitler.
Have anyone watched the equivalent national broadcaster in other countries recently. I regret that they have all descended in a similar way , and as most were starting from a lower base the results are pretty appalling.
The BBC is far from perfect, and has lost its way a bit , but it is still streets ahead of most others IMHO.
