I think it is important to compare apples with apples.
I compare the cost of fueling a Tesla M3 Dual Motor, a very quick sports saloon with a 0-60 of 3.7 seconds with a similar performance AMG C63, that required 99 Octane fuel and managed about 25mpg.
Comparing with a Mercedes diesel is not a realistic comparison.
