Proper jewel of an engine .... only downside was the iron block vs the Rover's alloy one .... in reality only 30kg difference and careful placing of the engine install and some dosh spent on light modern ancilliaries and that wouldn't be a problem

Many an old Daimler was scrapped as the result of custom builders buying them just to get their hands on the Engine for their hot rods... While at a race meeting at Ingleston many years back I chatted with a type 35 owner not really knowing what it was.... When he opened the bonnet I was struck dumb..! I watched an on board vid of a PurSang version, it did not seem like a good place to be if the intention was to do a bit of touring, so I`m glad I bought my +8, a far more practical form of transport for that task than a pre-war race car.... A Morgan purchased on grounds of practicality, who would have thought..
