The front indicators on my 2012 car haven't melted as such, but around 3 years ago I had to replace one of the amber LED modules because some of the LEDs had failed and the rest were quite dim. Then, over winter I noticed that the replacement was going the same way - I can only surmise that this has something to do with heat and/or vibration. I decided to fit motorcycle 'Mini' turn signals as pioneered by a TM member (sorry I can't remember who).

The parts I used were all inexpensive with the whole job costing around £25 (excluding heat shrink tubing, amalgamating tape and tie wraps etc). All parts from UK eBay.

The wires from the indicator module were cut to around 80mm before being joined to the existing cables. After being soldered, heat-shrunk and taped, the joined cable was pushed back up the rigid convoluted tube to produce quite a neat stealth look.
