I have never come across washers in such a situation. Indeed, I am thinking that a washer could actually prevent a good seal on the mating surfaces, if it is just a teeny bit out. Just because there was one there before, doesn’t mean it was original.This needs a definitive answer from someone with a Morgan from the same era.
