I am told the competition car does not get out of 3rd gear. When I drove it on the road I found both 5th and 6th were so far into overdrive that I just couldn't use them most of the time.
Torque is important for road use , but so is the ability to really push a smaller engine closer to its limits. If you want to try doing that with a +8 , then you are going need the SSL rear, or some lightening fast reactions. The extra weight , higher torque , and leaf sprung lsd rear axle make an interesting combination
