Only slightly off topic discovered offside TRE body at an angle rather than horizontal. Imagine this happened when tracking was adjusted. This had left the dust cover a little scrunched up on the forward side and worse it appeared to be cracked!

After correcting TRE angle ordered a small generic set of covers claimed to fit +8 but which turned out to be too small, so very carefully removed old one keeping the spring clips serviceable. On closer inspection the rubber boot was in pristine condition and I'd been fooled by cracked underseal blush Cleaned out old grease, re-packed and after a bit of fiddling got the lower larger securing circlip on dust cover. Top one was easy. Then secured taper with fresh nylock nut.

Note the factory original ⅜" UNF nylock was not particularly tight and my taper buster tool had little work to do. Torqued both sides to just over 30 lbft which added about an eighth of a turn to other side!
